Go green!  Shopping at The Tot, the Teen, and the Wardrobe is like a great big swap meet.  Hard-working mothers from the community bring in their gently used items and sell them at a fraction of the retail cost.  Shoppers have a rare opportunity to find great bargains for their children and their home.  The experience offered by The Tot, the Teen, and the Wardrobe is one where items in a community are being recycled, reused, and re-purposed.  With over 20,000 items in each sale, it’s a great feeling to know that these items aren’t ending up in a landfill.

Give to the community!  Not only does The Tot, the Teen, and the Wardrobe consignment event benefit seller, shopper, and the environment, but the community benefits a great deal as well.  Items left after the sale are donated to selected charities.  To date, items donated by sellers from The Tot, the Teen, and the Wardrobe have helped to pay for two families medical expenses, raise money for programs sponsored by Community Solutions for Substance Abuse, Lighthouse, Dream Riders, and the Junior League of Owensboro, raise money for local sports teams, supplied needed clothing to clothing closets at Foust Family Resource Center and Owensboro Christian Church’s Sparrow’s Closet, and helped families in need through the Daviess County Public Schools Family Resource Centers.  Sellers who leave items for donation can rest assured that their items are going where they are most needed.

Recipients That We Have Helped:

Jennifer and Stephanie,
I especially want to thank you for the clothing that was donated to one of the families that I work with during the charity pickup.  A 7 year old girl and 4 year old boy were blessed with 4 outfits a piece to help get them through the remainder of the school year.  I received a thank you letter from the little girl today and she wrote that "those were all the clothes I had been wanting!  I love you!"  Their great-aunt, whom they live with, was near tears when I brought the bag full of clothing to her on Monday.   I am so glad and thankful that you and Stephanie hung in there and did all you did to make this sale another success.  I have already started sorting things for the next sale!  Let me know if there is anything that I can do to help get ready for the next one!

Many thanks to The Tot, the Teen, and the Wardrobe for the items donated to Community Solutions for Substance Abuse for our rummage sale.  We sold items for $1 a piece and still made over a thousand dollars.  This money will be put to good use as we continue to work to inform the public about ways to prevent, address, and cope with substance abuse addiction.  Your generosity to the community should continue to attract people to your sale.

Dear Stephanie & Jennifer:

Thank you for your donations of unsold items from the spring sale.  Dream Riders will use these items for our garage sale fundraiser on May 16.  Your donations will support our mission of providing therapeutic and recreational horseback riding to individuals with physical and mental disabilities.

We hope your sale was a success and appreciate your generosity in helping local charities in our community.

I wanted to give you a HUGE Thank you!  I had 3 families go to the discounted sale on Sunday night and told me that you all just let them have the clothes.  You don’t know how excited that made all of them.  I have received phone calls from each of them this morning to let me know that you all told them to just take the clothes.  I appreciate you all doing that for my families!  Thanks, again!

Thank you so much for all the great clothing you donated to us after your spring sale.  The kid’s clothes are always needed and appreciated since we assist 60-80 families every week.  Your donation greatly benefits those in need in our community.

Thank you,
